St Werburgh’s Chapel

If you’re travelling south to Mt Barker or even further, take time to visit St Werburgh’s Chapel.

The Chapel is on the Mt Barker heritage trail. Take the Hay River Road or the Muirs Highway. (Approximately 8 kms as the crow flies west off the Albany Highway.)

Ask a local – they will all know where this lovely spot is.

The plaque outside of the chapel states that it was built by George Edward Egerton-Warburton on his St Werburgh’s property in 1872.

Sign the visitor’s book in the side room.

There is plenty of parking.

Not far from the Chapel is the Hay River crossing. Check the water levels. It does flood at times.

This is a delightful spot to stop and have a break and breath in the country air.
